RC 34 Renewal of Membership: Reminder from our organizational secretary

It is that time of year again! I hope you had a good summer, or winter, depending on where you are in the world. Next year is the World Congress of Sociology in Gothenberg and the number of rc34 sessions we are allocated depends on our membership numbers. Hence the early notification that those listed above will find that their membership of rc34 (and usually of the ISA too) will have lapsed at the end of the year. That is the moment our membership is counted, and our session allocation for the World Congress adjusted accordingly.  Read more

Join our 2010 Junior Scholar(s) Youth Research Competition: Deadline approaching - October 31, 2009

The Research Committee 34 (RC34) - Sociology of Youth of the International Sociological Association (ISA) announces the second worldwide competition for junior scholar(s) engaged in youth research. The winner(s) will be invited to participate in the XVII World Congress of Sociology which will be held on July 11-17, 2010 in Göthenborg, Sweden. The winner’s paper will be considered for presentation in RC34’s presidential session and for publication, subject to editorial decision and revision, in a publication of the RC 34.  Read more

FOUR members including Dr. NP Ngai, Dr. Tom Dwyer, Dr. Henk Vinken and Dr. Steven SY Ngai were invited and participated in the “International Symposium on Youth Leadership in a Transformational Society” organized by the China Youth University for Political Sciences in October 12-14, 2007 in Beijing, China.  Read more
