Dear Colleagues,

It is that time of year again! I hope you had a good summer, or winter, depending on where you are in the world.

Next year is the World Congress of Sociology in Gothenberg and the number of rc34 sessions we are allocated depends on our membership numbers. Hence the early notification that those listed above will find that their membership of rc34 (and usually of the ISA too) will have lapsed at the end of the year. That is the moment our membership is counted, and our session allocation for the World Congress adjusted accordingly.

I know that some of you will have moved on from the youth field and so will not be renewing your membership. To you, I hope membership of rc34 has been explicitly or implicitly of some value, and I wish you well in the future. The same goes for colleagues who may be retiring and departing from the youth field. For the rest of you, however, I hope you will feel committed to our global research network and renew your membership accordingly.

If you do renew your membership, I thank you in advance. If you do not, a short note telling me why would help me to understand how and perhaps why the numbers in our research committee ebb and flow.
