Dr. Kate Tilleczek opens new Qualitative Research Lab at the University of Prince Edward Island!

It’s been an exciting year for Kate and the Young Lives Research team at UPEI. The lab has seen major transformations, with the completion of the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) funded Qualitative Research lab and col-laboratory. With the addition of new qualitative equipment, software, and training sessions, the lab is advancing Qualitative research at UPEI to new and exciting levels. See http://katetilleczek.ca/qrl/

In the spring of 2013, Kate was an editor of Youth, Education, and Marginality – Local and Global Expressions found here http://www.wlupress.wlu.ca/Catalog/tilleczek.shtml
She contributed two chapters to the book. Please find her list of publications here http://katetilleczek.ca/publications/

The year wrapped up nicely for Kate. After being awarded the Canadian Education Association (CEA) Whitworth Award for research in education, Kate traveled to University of Oxford to present at the Young Lives UK Seminar Series. We’re hoping to keep the momentum going for 2014 with many projects currently in full swing, including our Digital Media and Young Lives Over Time project where we are working with researcher in Canada, Scotland, and Australia, and our Wekimun school project, where our research team is building a community education centre in Chiloe, Chile. Please see all projects on our website and stay tuned for updates.
