A network of Global South Youth Scholars

March-November 2015

How are young people living in the global South the same as or differ to their peers in the global North, and what strategies, policies and theories have we developed to help them succeed? This question has prompted Sharlene Swartz (Vice President for Africa and the Middle East) to convene a Consortium of Global South Youth Scholars (COGSYS). Inaugural ½ day meetings of the network will be held in 2015 in March at the University of Cambridge, UK; in June at City University of New York, USA; in July in Ife, Nigeria; in September at the World Social Sciences Forum in Durban, South Africa and in November at the Association for Moral Education Conference in Santos, Brazil. If you’re close by and interested in attending a meeting please email Sharlene Swartz at sswartz@hsrc.ac.za for more details.
