The papers presented in the special section of this issue of the Italian Journal of Sociology of Education approach several of the aspects involved in the analysis of “Youth work, non-formal education and youth participation” from a range of vantage points. Bridging youth studies and educational research, scholars from different countries and backgrounds allow the reader to explore, through various theoretical and methodological perspectives, the manifold issues and challenges involved in the study of the relationship between youth work, non-formal education and youth participation.
