in the DFG long-term project TWINLIFE:
“Genetic and social causes of life chances: A genetically informative, longitudinal study of the life course and individual development”
for the duration of 2 years to begin as soon as possible. The contract can be renewed in case of a positive review for the next funding period.
The study combines behavioral genetics with sociological and psychological research in the domains of social inequalities, life course, and individual development. During the first three years, the first wave of the study was realized: 4000 twin pairs in four birth cohorts plus parents, sibling, and partner. The first release of the scientific use file of the first wave is planned for summer 2016.
The successful candidate will be involved in planning and realizing the ongoing data collection. The position also includes developing research projects based on the TwinLife Data. Applicants should have interest and qualifications in social inequality issues, life course research, behavioral genetics, and very strong skills in quantitative data analysis. Interest in interdisciplinary cooperation with psychology is recommended. German language proficiency, both in speaking and writing, is very welcome but not precondition for a successful application. Experiences in international research environments and international publications are an advantage.
